Findings
There is symmetrical increased signal intensity in caudate nucleus & putamina in T2 WI appearing isointense in T1 WI without restricted diffusion (not shown).
Similar signal is also seen in ventrolateral thalami and midbrain.
Hypointense red nucleus and lateral pars reticulata of the substantia nigra within high T2 signal of midbrain mimic face of a giant panda.
Diagnosis
Wilson's disease with "Panda sign of the midbrain"
