It is a small story of a Olympic Football Goalkeeper (Age 34) who had injury during play session, and was advised a surgery. The story goes through the sequence of events after the knee injury. It involves pain, confusion, fear and victory. In case of a sports injury, it is not just player but also the team is at the receiving end. Its honor for international panel at TeleradiolgyHUB to tell how they made it possible.
He says, "I felt a spike pain going my leg to hip at that moment. It was at football practice session- I was playing at Goalkeeper position. While I was on the post, I noticed a straight hit towards the net. I still remember, I leaped high in the air. With that jump, I caught the ball but before realizing anything I crashed on my knees," The episode of such an accident is not uncommon on play field. At times, people manage the pain by ourselves. If the pain does not subside, they run to local orthopedic for investigations. Depending on the injury, Orthopedic may ask for Xray or recomend to physiotherapist. If situation is not good, he could apply bandage or/and enforcement to make the spot immobile. Painkillers to make it bearable. Orthopedic would observe the Knee in days and if convinced, he would ask to get MRI investigation of Knee.
In case of Goalkeeper, the problem started after MRI report was out. That created a situation of uncertainly. Orthopedics thought there was possibility of anterior crucially ligament(ACL) or medial collateral ligament (MCL) rupture that might need surgery for ligament repair. The fate of surgery is always stands between two probabilities 1.. How good imaging results were ?. 2. How rightly the surgery is performed ?
The Olympian Goalkeeper, had similar thoughts. In such cases, it becomes difficult to see the way ahead as your consultant pull you in different directions. You feel internally devided. The Olympian Goalkeeper was greatly supported by his Physio and Orthopedic in seeking another opinion on Imaging. He went out to find MRI experts if available online. He was told to look for senior radiologist in musculoskeletal imaging. To his surprise, a help came through his friend.

He reached out to coordinator, who helped him to upload the MRI images and asked him to wait if they can take his case. Resident Radiologist Panel (RRP) examined the data and allowed the case to go to selected panel. He preferred an International Second Opinion TH Panel lead by senior-most radiologist expert in musculoskeletal radiology- L4 Panel and paid fees. The study was complex but the reports came in time. The results were astonishing. He was free to ask questions to the panel to resolve his uncertainty. The L4 panel asked him to repeat MRI Knee with contrast with some additional sequence which were missing earlier. He did and submitted to L4 Panel. The L4 panel then confirmed its finding. This made him happy and relax. Along with him now his team, family and doctors are got peace of mind. This is the miracle of second opinion done through Panel. The story had peaceful ending. ...
